GoProof vs Filestage: Online Proofing Compared

6 Oct 2026
Filestage and GoProof are both online proofing tools that let teams collect feedback on creative work in one place. They are priced and packaged differently, and which one fits depends mostly on how many people create proofs and which tools they work in.

GoProof is our product, so read this with that in mind. We have kept to facts from each vendor's published pricing, last checked in October 2026, and we say where Filestage may be the better choice. Confirm current details with each vendor before you decide.

At a Glance

  • Reviewers: Both include unlimited external reviewers without a paid seat.
  • Free plan: Filestage has one, limited to 1 active project and 5 new files a month. GoProof does not, but offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card.
  • Entry paid plan: Filestage Starter is $199 a month. GoProof Connect is $129 a month billed yearly.
  • Mid-tier plan: Filestage Business is $329 a month. GoProof Pro is $259 a month billed yearly.
  • Enterprise: Both quote individually and include single sign-on at that level. GoProof Pro also includes it.

Pricing and Seats

Filestage's paid plans start at 10 team members, which can be added in bundles of 5, with unlimited projects and files. Its Starter plan includes 1TB of storage and Business includes 3TB.

GoProof Connect includes up to 2 users and 500GB, and Pro includes up to 5 users and 1TB, with unlimited proofs on every plan. Enterprise starts at 10 users.

The practical difference is simple. If a large group of people create and send proofs, Filestage's 10-member starting point can work out cheaper per person. If a small team creates the proofs and a large group reviews them, GoProof's lower entry price is hard to beat. Count your creators first.

Workflows and Automation

Filestage's Business plan adds what it calls review agents, automations, project templates, webhooks and API access. Lower plans do not include them.

GoProof supports multi-stage reviews with triggers and routing, so a proof can move from internal sign-off to the client without anyone chasing it. Check how many stages and templates each plan you are considering allows.

Adobe and Integrations

GoProof's free extension runs from inside InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro, and GoProof integrates with monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, Trello, Basecamp, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Calendar and Zapier on every plan. Filestage also offers integrations. If your designers live in Adobe apps, test the plug-in you would use every day in both tools before deciding.

Security and Administration

Filestage's Enterprise plan lists data residency in Germany, audit logs and single sign-on. Oppolis Software, the company behind GoProof, is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, and GoProof Pro includes single sign-on. If you need a specific data location, ask each vendor directly.

Which One Suits Which Team

Filestage may suit you if a large group creates and sends proofs, you want a free plan for a small trial project, or you need Business-level automations and an API.

GoProof may suit you if a smaller team creates the proofs, you work mainly in Adobe apps, you use monday.com, and you want published pricing with unlimited proofs and reviewers on every plan.

The best test is a real project. Both vendors offer a way to try the product, so run the same job through each.
