How do I send a Proof?

This article will assist you in sending a proof to your client for review.

There are 2 methods for sending a document for proof.

GoProof file uploader
Send your client PDF, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, Animated GIF, TIFF and MP4 files via the GoProof Website.

Adobe CC Extension
Use the GoProof extension panel inside Adobe CC to send documents to your client, without the need to export them first.

Choose from the options below to see how to send your proof.

1. Login to GoProof

2. Click the Upload Proof button.

3. The File Uploader screen will be displayed.

4. Select the files you want to upload by either dragging them into the Drag Files Here window or click Browse To Files and select them from their location.

Note: Supported file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, Animated GIF, TIFF and MP4

5. Enter a Proof Name. The proof name is a display name and can be different from the original document name.

6. From the drop-down menus choose an existing Client and  Project you want to send the proof to. To send to a new Client or Project click Add a New Client or Add a New Project in order to create a new Client or Project.

7. Click Next.

8. This is where you add your users and what their role is in the review process.

9. To add additional Reviewers, Gatekeepers and Observers, enter their email address in the invite reviewers field and hit enter on your keyboard.

Note: There must be at least one Gatekeeper from the client’s side.

10. To send your content for review, press Send And View Proof.

That’s it! Your document has now been sent to your client for them to review. A Review Window will open on your computer displaying your uploaded content and your client will receive an email notification inviting them to review the content.

Adobe CC Extension

In order to send a proof using the GoProof Add-On, you will need to be using an Adobe CC Supported product, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or Premiere and have already installed the GoProof Add-On.

1. Open your Adobe CC Application.

2. Open the GoProof Extension and Log In with your GoProof credentials.

Note: The GoProof Extension can be found in the Window > Extensions menu.

3. Open/Create the document you want to send for review.

Note: Ensure that the document has been saved prior to sending for review.

4. Select the Client and Project you wish to send the proof to.

5. Once you are ready to send your proof to your client for review, click Send Proof.

6. This will start the Send Proof wizard.

7. Enter a Proof Name. The proof name is a display name and can be different from the original document name.

8. Click Next.

9. On the next screen, this is where you add your collaborators and what their role is in the review process. To add additional Reviewers, Gatekeepers and Observers, just enter their email address in the Add User field and hit the enter key.

10. The below window will appear. Enter the user’s credentials and click OK.

11. A list of the collaborators added to this proof will be displayed. Once everyone has been added, click Next.

Note: There must be at least one Gatekeeper from the client’s side.

11. The next screen has two optional features. Press Next to continue.

 Add a message to your email template.
You can write a message to your collaborators and have it included in the email template as a one-time message. This message will be included in the email the collaborator receives, inviting them to review the proof. If you do not wish to enter a message, leave this blank.

Set a Deadline and Reminder.
If you want to set a deadline for when you expect the proof feedback, set a date and time here and we will let your collaborators know.

12. A summary screen is displayed. If the information is correct, click the Send Proof button.

That’s it! Your document has now been sent for review. Your client will be sent an email inviting them to review your work.
